Ah Dalmore!

There is a small collection of malts which it is fashionable and correct to be seen to disparage for those who do are known as the “real” drinkers.

Now, the PR front man of Dalmore, Mr Richard Paterson is from a by-gone era. If you don’t know what I mean check out the YouTube video:

Drink it how you want!

Anyways, so he likes his whisky with a bit of drama and well yeh cringe.

If the official line is this whisky is a good thing to go with a cigar then ok fair enough. Not something I will be trying but sure.

The perfect accompaniment to the finest cigars, this single malt is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks , Matusalem oloroso sherry casks and Cabernet Sauvignon barriques.

My Thoughts

Colour – deep orange

Nose – Oranges, marmalade, black coffee and dark chocolate

Palate – peppery and spicy but still married to those orange chocolate marmalade top notes from the nose

Finish – Straight down the middle nose follows palate follows finish

This is a nice whisky. The price just creeps under 100 pounds but for me the cheaper 15 year old is a better purchase Dalmore 15 Year Old
