Oh another go to favourite distillery is Deanston so this is hopefully going to be good. I have tried a few from Deanston and visited the distillery but not tried this in a while. In fact, the only time I have tried it would have been at the distillery. My all time favourite is probably Deanston 20 Year Old but good luck not paying over the odds for it now. A more available and still excellent bottle is Deanston 18 Year Old – its had a marketing branding glow up but hopefully that doesn’t change the actual liquid too much.
I’ve left 4 separate links to go check out from the back catalogue so brownie points for clicking on all of them – you did didn’t you?? Don’t lie to me now 😦
Anyway, given all that homework I will get right into this £40 whisky.
Tasting Notes
| Colour | pale yellow |
| Nose | tinned fruit syrup, vanilla pods and freshly cut grass |
| Palate | The fruity syrup mix continues and develops with a drop of honey and some cereal biscuit notes and a sprinkle of nutmeg Nice mouthfeel as well |
| Finish | Not a long finish but nicely digestive biscuit with a little Mirabelle jam on top |
Where Can I Buy?
Master of Malt – Deanston 12 Year Old
Final Thoughts
A very good affordable single malt which out guns a lot of similarly priced whiskies
