Would a tasting flight ever be complete without finishing with a peated whisky? Probably not and so we end on the Smoke Symphony which includes a peated whisky in the collection of blended malts used.
This particular one though has peaked my interested because the blend is combined and finished in Rioja casks which is one of fav’s to drink as a finishing cask and to drink as a wine on its own.

Nose – This is going to be biased but I’m immediately thinking this is the best of the bunch. Those ripe red fruit flavours are so forward and bright mixed with a billowing smoky wood fire which is just my guilty pleasure. If none of that gets you going then you can just finish reading now.
Palate – This isn’t a peaty monster but a subtle blend of flavours between medium amounts of smoke, and a berry compete note which is subtler on tasting than in the glass all over a spicy whisky profile. It’s a great composition honestly
Finish – Peaty whiskies will always linger, sometimes well into the night and the next morning if we are honest and this is no different
Final Thoughts
Yep still my favourite and still the best of the three. It wasn’t really a foregone conclusion though inexpert blending would have broken this and the Orchard Blast one is a really close second.
All in all though any of the whiskies are great value at under £40 and beat going down the supermarket for whatever is on offer.
