Ok so after a run of 25 articles in a row how else can I spend Boxing day than keeping the run going for another one.

Looking back at the 25 drams overall I would say I think its been a bit of a poor show this year. Over the years I have done the single cask one, the premium one, the classic one and a few of these Scotch Whisky one. By far this has been the most boring. All the whiskies are acceptable and almost all I would buy a bottle and feel like its money well spent but there is nothing unusual, surprising or memorable.

Given that though what was my top 3?

• Top Position – Advent Day 20: Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength Batch 16
• Second Place – Advent Day 19: Lagavulin 8 Year Old
• Third Place – Advent Day 14: Deanston Virgin Oak Cask Strength

Given two of the 3 there were peated and Islay perhaps I should have went for the one which was all Peat? Peaty Advent Calendar
