Highland Park 15 year old is one of those bottles which are just built for gifting.
Age Statement – Check.
Quite a large age statement – Check.
Fancy looking bottle – Check.
Priced punchy but not unaffordable so it says I care without saying I went without food for this?
Check!
The recipe is built on a core of European and American oak with Sherry seasoning. Bottled at 44% ABV and available for change from £90. I included the Viking Range bottle in the blog image because I’d guess these samples are from that design but I see you can get a few free glasses with the new bottle for Christmas.

They aren’t nice glasses I will grant you but its not for you. Its for them.
Tasting Notes
| Colour | light orange |
| Nose | Faint charred wood, heathery peat and some soft fruits. |
| Palate | Feels like it needs a few more ABV’s the water has knocked the fight out of it in my opinion. Honey, some more of the charred wood notes, vanilla and orange blossom water |
| Finish | Some cinnamon makes this feel like a nice whisky beside a Christmas fire. Short finish though its that damn 44%. Image what you would be left with at 40% though |
Where Can I Buy?
I am not sure I’d buy this for me but it is decent to gift it and go with the newer glass gift set.

Final Thoughts
It’s one to say you have tried it but the 18 is better if maybe too expensive. So the answer is:
Get the 18 but don’t pay full RRP
