If the Tomatin from Wednesday if finished then looking for a new Christmas dram goes on. This Glen Moray could very well be a good option.
In a Whisky world full of Premiumisation Strategies Glen Moray is a welcome tonic of French owned well crafted affordable whisky. All the whiskies from this distillery I have tried or owned have been great from the cheapest to the most expensive I have never said non to a dram from this distillery.
The Whisky

If all Glen Moray’s are good then a little tip is to know if the packaging looks like the above with the silver front then this is the extra cool stuff. The real Enthusiast choice for want of a better expression.
This one is bottled with all the boxes ticked; natural colour, cask strength, non-chill filtered, full matured Oloroso sherry matured and a distillation date in 2014. Bottles are still available at under £80.
Tasting Notes
| Colour | Mahogany |
| Nose | Candied nuts, gingerbread and the unmistakeable sherry notes |
| Palate | more gingerbread notes, buttery toast and stewed soft fruits in alcohol. the best type of stewed fruits of course |
| Finish | toasted almonds and a long orange finish |
Final Thoughts
Ok, this could be the Christmas dram. I wonder if I will find anything else to better it?
