I’ve taken an awful long time to start my writing in 2024. It’s now February but January saw a fresh new look with a new skin and I have went through nearly 500 posts and categorized them into a least one bucket. That was a pretty exhausting and timing consuming task so I haven’t had the energy to actually create more content. The upside though is this new skin should make finding and searching for all articles on a particular distillery or topic much easier.
Tamdhu is a great distillery so to get a little mini set which includes the 12, 15 and new 18 year old is quite the treat. I’ve tried the 12 and 15 before but a quick search in my (new) categories shows I’ve not actually written about them. I must have been letting my laziness show.
Tasting Notes
Colour: caramel
Nose: brown sugar, little touch of orange zest and nutmeg.
Palate: a sharp blood orange, touch of white pepper,
Finish: thick finish, brown sugar crust with pannacotta, long length which fizzes on that citric note
Final Thoughts
There was one 12 year old Tamdhu in the backlog: Tamdhu 12 Year Old – M&S Exclusive That M&S exclusive which predates the core bottle was a different product. This one definitely feels like there is more first fill content.
I think I will change the format up of these articles. They have started to get quite short so between the next two (Tamdhu 15 & 18) I’ll experiment a little on some formats and see what the template for 2024 will be.
